*banging pots and pans* sami zayn is a syrian-canadian muslim man who is proud of his heritage and in touch with his syrian side. he speaks arabic and practices islam. he never hides the fact that he is syrian or muslim and does everything he can to support syria and spread awareness and destroy negative stereotypes about middle easterners and muslims. he literally started a fundraiser to create a mobile clinic to help refugees in syria and was honored by the syrian-american medical society. denying/overlooking all of this and erasing his heritage is a shitty and harmful thing to do
